US Protests: People's Convoy reroutes after Arizona sees up to a foot of snow

The People's Convoy was forced to revise its cross-country route due to inclement weather in Arizona. The convoy, which aims to protest COVID mask and vaccine mandates, is heading to Washington DC after departing California on Wednesday. The group has also called on the federal government to end the National Emergency enacted at the start of the pandemic. The People's Convoy is expected to arrive in DC on March 5 where it will be joined by around 25 other truck cavalcades. DC leaders have increased police presence in the city and plan to reinstall the fencing that surrounded the Capitol complex for much of 2021. The Pentagon also authorized the deployment of 700 members of the National Guard to the capital city ahead of the convoy's arrival.
