Gunfights, Trainwrecks, and Gold. That’s what you’d find at the small, abandoned mining town of Bonnie Claire, Nevada, a junction between the Las Vegas and Tonopah Railroad and the Bullfrog Goldfield Railroad.
The history of Bonnie Claire, put simply, is a mess. There’s a lot that we don’t know. There’s a lot that the history books gloss over, and even meticulous publications of local history can’t give more than a couple paragraphs about the site.
I was drawn to it because of how photogenic the place is; there are some stunning shots I’ve seen photographers take at this ghost town, but the mystery of this town; the lack of documentation, and the
There are scattered ruins here; wooden buildings falling apart, stone buildings dating back farther, and a rusty, creaking old mill on the hillside. A wooden trailer, left behind by one of the last residents, and two lonely graves of young women, their information already partially obscured. The abandoned track beds coming through this railroad stop remind us of the town’s dependency on its two railroad companies, and give us a clue as to where the train wreck occurred, but beyond the immediate ruins, there’s more waiting to be discovered.
Looking back on the excitement and tragedy, the ups and downs, and the humble beginnings and lonely end, can we assemble this town’s story like never before? And can we find the earliest remains of the town-site, currently lost to the history books?

Today, US Route 60 in Arizona links the town of Superior and Globe but up until the 1920s, a road between the two towns, separated by only 23 miles, didn't exist. That was until the building of the Superior-Miami Highway in 1922.
The road covered 21 miles through the mountains and was known as the Arizona Highway Department's most ambitious project of its time. Building the highway cost about $1,000,000 and the road became known as the Million Dollar Highway.
In 1926 in an effort to straighten the road some, the Claypool Tunnel was blasted into the mountains. Eventually the road would become part go Highway 60 as the it expanded into Arizona.
The road was known for being steep, narrow, and curvy and by the late 1940s work had begun a new alignment. With the completion of the Queen Creek Bridge in 1949 and the Queen Creek Tunnel in 1952, this section of the highway was bypassed.
Luckily, the old highway remains. In this video we head down the abandoned section of the road as we travel through the Claypool Tunnel, visit both the old and new Queen Creek Bridges, find relics from the roads construction and Superior's mining days.

We LIVE in a 4x4 TRUCK and EVERYTHING SUCKS!
This is the story of an abandoned mansion and the man who built it for his family.
Robert was an accomplished man, graduating from one the nation’s finest medical schools, he became a well known surgeon, a father of four, and even a recreational pilot. Having built a thriving empire with over half a dozen medical offices, in 2006, Robert decided it was time to build a dream mansion for his family.
He was by no means a flashy man but no expense was spared in the elaborate design of this 30,0000sqft luxury villa.
Comprised of three stories, not counting the full basement, the white marble mansion has eleven bedrooms, thirteen bathrooms, a visitors quarter, indoor pool, outdoor sports complex, four-car garage, mahogany library and an elevator. Aside from its shear magnitude, it embodies the elegance and elaborate design you would only expect from a $10,000,000 mansion.
While it was still under construction, the family moved into the home and Robert’s dream of living the life he’d always wanted was becoming a reality. But the dream would soon come crashing down.
Robert and his teenage son were in his plane while on a business trip when they lost control of the aircraft and crashed into rough terrain. Robert, was at the controls. They were both killed upon impact. But the devastation of his death far exceeded what anyone could have imagined. Robert’s multimillion-dollar life insurance policy had been cancelled when he failed to make payments on the premium for the two months leading up to his death.
All financial support for his family had been stripped and eight million dollars was still owed on the mansion, not to mention the mortgage was a staggering $50,000 a month. And with the mansion unfinished, the prospect of selling it to someone who had the money, time, and vision to complete the elaborate build was out of the question. It took only three months for the bank cease the property and the house has been sitting abandoned ever since, accumulating water damage with year that passes.
But the mystery of this mansion lies in the huge amount of valuables left inside including luxury cars, lavish furniture, expensive designer clothes and so much more.
So let’s now go on a journey inside of this marvelous mansion and let’s explore the dream home that never fully came to be.

This abandoned mine exploration takes us on a Jeep ride through the desert before hiking up a mule trail high up the mountain to the Bloodstone Mine. This remote lead mine has some interesting geology, and some very interesting artifacts that we've never seen in a mine before. Because of it's location much of the work was done by hand and the miners had to improvise by making things that they needed. The ore vein is very beautiful with vivid colors throughout the mine.
Underground Explore Of Historic Desert Gold Mine, Aerial Tram, Ore Car, Artifacts and Mountain Hike🔦
For this underground mine explore we start by driving the Jeep as far as we could up a narrow and remote canyon in the mountains of Death Valley. After reaching an impasse we hiked the rest of the way up the canyon until we came to the historic abandoned mine site. Once there we found a very large ore bin and the associated lower tram terminal of an aerial tram. After exploring the ore bin and the mechanical equipment of the tram, we found the steep trail that leads high up the mountain to the mine and to the upper tram terminal. We first explored the underground mine drifts and found some interesting artifacts and workings. We then headed over to the trestle that leads to the tram terminal. The upper tram terminal is very interesting and the equipment to move the tram buckets up and down is all still there. We hope you enjoy the explore of this beautiful area and the historic mine and mining equipment.

Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve is an American national park that protects portions of the Brooks Range in northern Alaska. The park is the northernmost national park in the United States, situated entirely north of the Arctic Circle. The park is the second largest in the US, slightly larger in area than Belgium. Gates of the Arctic was initially designated as a national monument on December 1, 1978, before being redesignated as a national park and preserve upon passage of the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act in 1980.
A large part of the park has additional protection as the Gates of the Arctic Wilderness that adjoins the Noatak Wilderness. They form the largest contiguous wilderness in the United States together.
Fauna include brown bears, black bears, muskoxen, moose, Dall sheep, timber wolves, wolverines, coyotes, lynxes, marmots, porcupines, river otters, red and Arctic fox species, beavers, snowshoe hares, muskrats, bald eagles, golden eagles, peregrine falcons, ospreys, great horned and northern hawk-owls. More than half a million caribou, including the Central Arctic, Western Arctic, Teshekpuk, and Porcupine herds, migrate through the central Brooks Range twice yearly, traveling north in summer, and south in winter. Caribou are important as a food source to native peoples. The park is the northernmost range limit for the Dall sheep. About 132 brown bears reside in the park and preserve, based on a density of about one bear per 100 square miles.

On the periphery of the Solar System there is a little world bound by toxic ice lurking amid the great abyss of space. A giant shadow covering the stars from sight is unmovable over its rugged horizon, and the dim Sun slowly traverses the sky. The Sun rays here are not able to dissipate the semi-darkness that the frozen plain wrinkled with bottomless crevices is perpetually shrouded in. This is Pluto – a lifeless kingdom of rock and ice covered by a perpetual shadow. Let’s find out more about it.

The water level in Lake Mead has reached record lows, bringing the largest man-made reservoir in the United States to within 895 feet of drying up. When the water level in a reservoir drops so low that it cannot be released by the dam, a dead pool is created. Lake Mead's current water level is approximately 1,044 feet. #lakemead #lakemeaddiscoveries #scientificdiscoveries

I bought an abandoned church at the border of Area 51 and we are building a resort!
The Hoover Dam was built between 1931 and 1936 and was a massive undertaking. Due to the area's isolation, getting supplies and equipment to the construction itself was a challenge. In just five months, the terrain near what is now Lake Mead was forever changed, and a railroad line was built to the construction site.
The railroad was largely abandoned in 1935, and closed for good in 1961, but now the path of the old railroad tracks (including it's five tunnels) is a hiking trail that goes just over 3 1/2 miles from the Lake Mead National Recreation Area's Visitor Center to the Hoover Dam.
On the trail you will find stunning views of Lake Mead, where the evidence of years of drought is very apparent, as you walk back in time, where trains once ran 24 hours a day to bring supplies to the Hoover Dam's construction.
Along the way, the trail passes by the site of Ragtown, a notorious shantytown on the banks of the Colorado River that sprung up during the Great Depression. You can also find leftovers from the dam's construction, including plus for turbines. As you get closer to the dam itself, you get a kind of behind-the-scenes look at the dam, and travel through the Hoover Dam's boneyard.
