Here's to Hitting the Road in 2022 (RV LIFE)

Starting small now is better than starting big, later.

If this year is your time for hitting the road, remember that lifelong memories can be made in any RV no matter how long or short the trip.

You've heard us say "start small, start now" countless times. When it comes to chasing down your dream, starting small is the key. That doesn't mean starting with a small RV. Rather, in the words of Theodore Roosevelt, "Start with what you can, with what you've got, from where you are".
In our case, we had to downsize our dream to make it happen and once we were able to shift our priorities to be more deliberate in how we were living, we were able to grow our dream into what we once imagined. Without question, had we waited until reality matched the perfect dream we had in our minds, we would have missed our window and KYD would have never happened.

Being the last episode of 2021, we thought this was an appropriate time to remind the KYD community the importance of chasing your dream, no matter how close or far away it seems. We become what we think about the most so never stop chasing your dream! It won't always be easy and sacrifices will be made, but we're confident you won't regret it, even if it doesn't go to plan.

This week we've been spending time with family and wanted to edit a "simple video" to feature all the amazing places there are to visit and explore. We hope this video makes you excited to hit the road in 2022 and prompts conversations to take what every step is next for you.
During the past several years, we've learned a few things about RV life and dreams.
1. RV Life can be the hardest in the beginning, so give yourself some time (and grace) to figure it out.
2. You'll make adjustments along the way to make it work for you and your family. Avoid jumping to conclusions or making decisions when you're starting out. Focus on learning and going with the flow.
3. You'll only remember the peaks and dips, so embrace the times when things don't go to plan. The unexpected plan B just might make for a better story than everything being perfect.
4. Dreams evolve over time. For us, our journey took us from seeing places to people. Be open to new ways to use your RV as you gain more experience.
5. Your dreams are more significant than you think. Taking time for yourself can recharge you making you even more available for others. You'll gain new perspectives and experiences that you can share with the people you need to encourage or mentor.
