I was in Arizona recently for Phoenix Comic-Con, and had the amazing pleasure of seeing one of Earth's greatest natural wonders… the Grand Canyon. More than a mile deep, and several miles across, it just defies belief. But I couldn't help but think, the Colorado River down at the bottom isn't that big. How did it cut a canyon so massive? How old is the Grand Canyon?

Hundreds of truckers in a giant convoy have spent the past week traversing the country from the west coast and the convoy now heads to DC to protest COVID-19 mask and vaccine mandates put in place by the - federal government since the pandemic began - plus a host of other issues.
The "People's Convoy" originated in California last week and has merged with several other organized convoys of varying size to converge on DC to protest in a similar fashion to the truck driver protests that halted Canadian government operations in the capital of Ottawa over the last month.
As of 9 a.m., The “People’s Convoy” of hundreds of truckers is now on its way to snarl traffic on the DC Beltway. Organizers said they have been in contact with local law enforcement and the convoy will do two laps around the Beltway at slow speeds.
Truckers told WUSA 9 it has previously taken the Convoy 2.5 hours to exit the grounds where they’ve camped. The Convoy could be 20 or more miles long, with close to 1,000 trucks and accompanying cars and drivers involved.
“We are not going into DC proper at this time,” an organizer on a megaphone told the truckers, adding, “doesn’t mean it won’t happen.” Some truckers said they wanted to protest in DC, driving to the White House.

Inside the Trucker Convoy Heading to Washington, DC
Inspired by the trucker convoy in Canada, convoys of U.S. trucks are rolling down highways on their way to Washington, D.C.
Most are protesting that the national emergency and COVID-19 restrictions be lifted.
"It's not: I'm a Republican, and you're a Democrat, it's about I'm an American, let's live like Americans," trucker Mike Dawson said.
The truckers are making their demands even as most U.S. states have already eased many restrictions.
In California, where the first convoy began, the state lifted universal mask requirements last week while requiring masks for vaccinated people only in high-risk areas such as public transit, schools and healthcare settings.
Preparations are being made in Washington for the expected arrival of the convoy and other similar protests in the coming days. The Pentagon said it had approved 400 National Guard troops from the District of Columbia, who would not carry weapons, to help at traffic posts through March 7.
