Speaking at a meeting of the UN General Assembly on Wednesday, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba warned that a Russian invasion of the country would be “the end of the world order as we know it” and would bankrupt the international security system.

“No country will be able to sit out this crisis,” he warned.

Kuleba called on UN member-states to speak out against Russia’s recognition of separatist-controlled regions in eastern Ukraine, adding that a neutral stance would “contribute to further escalation and suffering.”

Russia again accused Kyiv of a “genocide” in its eastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk, adding that Russian armed forces are monitoring a ceasefire in the region and that “no one intends to go softy, softy with any violators.”
